Mainly Tunbridge Wells but requirement to work at other sister Hospital sites and visits to other Spire locations for meetings/training as/when necessary.

Our Vacancy:
You will lead the estates and engineering strategy and plans for the Hospital Director, being responsible for the planned, preventative and emergency maintenance of hospital grounds, building fabric, engineering infrastructure and all equipment. The successful applicant will manage a small engineering and maintenance team, and co-ordinate external contracts ensuring compliance with all current national legislation and Spire Operational Policies. You will also be expected to participate in an out-of-hours emergency on-call service. The management of the engineering budget and planning of capital expenditure will be part of your duties, as well as developing an overall site development plan for the building with the Hospital Director and Senior Management Team. You will be expected to provide estates and engineering advice to the Hospital Director.

Working hours:
Flexible - according to planned works. There will be some regular "out-of-hours" working. Participation in emergency "on-call" service (co-ordinated cover across Spire Hospital sites) will be required.

Qualifications Required • To have served a recognised apprenticeship leading to a City & Guilds or NVQ appropriate to the profession
• To hold an HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering
• To hold a certificate in competency ideally from the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health for the Management of Health and Safety in the work place
• To have obtained relevant certification or be willing to undertake specialist training.

Experience:
• To have a minimum of 5 years experience in estates function

• To be a member of a professional body
• To be willing to learn new skills and gain relevant specialist qualifications (e.g. Medical Gases, Autoclaves).
